The doctrinal foundation of Gilgal Biblical Seminary reflects historic evangelical Christianity rooted in biblical authority and shaped by Pentecostal conviction. These beliefs guide our teaching, spiritual formation, and ministry preparation.
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is verbally inspired by God and is inerrant in its original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
We believe in one eternal God, self-existent and sovereign, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and united in divine essence.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for humanity, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now intercedes at the right hand of the Father.
We believe all humanity is fallen through sin and in need of redemption. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Repentance and faith lead to justification, regeneration, and the new birth by the Holy Spirit.
We believe sanctification is both a definite work of grace and a progressive experience through faith in Christ, the Word of God, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Holiness is God’s standard for His redeemed people.
We believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit subsequent to salvation. Speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance, is the initial evidence of this experience.
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We also affirm the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet as sacred observances.
We believe divine healing is provided for believers through the atoning work of Jesus Christ and is available according to God’s sovereign will.
We believe in the premillennial return of Jesus Christ. He will first resurrect the righteous dead and gather living believers to Himself. Christ will reign on earth, and there will be a final judgment.
We affirm the bodily resurrection of all humanity, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal separation from God for those who reject His salvation.
